One Moore Book + U of M

The Haiti Series includes the second children’s book by American Book Award winner, Edwidge Danticat: The Last Mapou, which was illustrated by world-renowned painter, Edouard Duval Carrie. The book is stunning and we cannot wait to share it with you all. Edwidge Danticat also served as the guest editor for this series, so look out for a blog next week about her valuable contribution to this project.

University of Miami – Department of Modern Languages and Literatures volunteers with various programs in Little Haiti, including the French Heritage Program through which Haitian children from a low-income area of Miami are taught French, free of charge in an after-school program. One Moore Book has partnered with UM to produce French and Kreyol translations of Edwidge’s book, The Last Mapou, for the children of the French Heritage Program.
